FAQs

Who prints your images?

I use a first class fine art production studio in Manchester, UK called Klein Imaging. I have experimented with a few printing studios and found Klein to provide me with an overall superior quality. They also offer a reliable drop shipping service which means they also ship the prints directly.

What paper / inks do you use?

All papers are of the highest standard archival quality, as are the UV safe inks printed on the printer’s Canon machines. I have chosen two different fine art papers dependent on each individual image, Klein Gloss Art Fibre or Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bright.

What does archival quality mean?

Archival means long lasting – if displayed or stored correctly your print could have a lifespan of over 70 years. This is why so many museums and galleries choose these papers and inks for their reproductions. Any packaging or protective treatments that come into contact with your prints are acid-free and will help the print to retain its integrity over time.

Do your prints have a border?

Yes, all prints have a border. The print size options to each image show the size of the paper and the approximate print area. In my opinion, borders make the prints look neater, but they also are more forgiving with fingerprints in case you touch the prints directly or accidentally.

How long will it take to deliver my print?

For UK mainline delivery, 5-7 days or earlier if possible. EU & worldwide up to 10 working days.

Will the print look the same as it does through my screen?

Not quite. The reason being, screens are backlit meaning they are much brighter and more vibrant. The inks in the prints use dyes and pigments that absorb light which is why prints can look a little duller and less colour saturated than on your screen.

Can you frame my prints?

All prints are shipped unframed as standard, however Klein Imaging, the company that prints the images, does offer a framing service. Please enquire separately about a framing option.

Can I touch the prints?

In all circumstances, treat the prints with care and please try not to touch the front of the prints with your fingers. The oils in your fingers can leave fingerprints. This is one reason why every print has a white border.

Can you send images digitally for commercial use?

Yes of course, if they are not limited edition. Please email separately at mike@midi-photography.co.uk about any commercial use enquiries.

What if there is a problem with my order?

All prints are packaged and shipped with great care, however, if you incur an issue please let me know as soon as possible by emailing mike@midi-photography.co.uk. It is your responsibility in all cases to unpack and handle the prints with care.
